The Data Protection Officer will be responsible for the implementation of an organisation-wide Data Protection Strategy for NMBI, act as the point of contact for the Data Protection Commissioner, and providing advice on the application and management of the data protection laws and regulations to NMBI.
This role will also involve assessing processes and requirements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance with the highest standards of best practice in data protection. The Data Protection Officer will be required to:
- Finalise all data protection policies for the organisation
- Conducted a full review of compliance
- Put a detailed work programme in place for both data protection and data governance
- Make costed recommendations regarding technology-enabling data protection and data governance solutions, that are applicable at department level and organisation-wide
- Conduct a review of the organisation’s data mapping, inventories and risks
- Carry out a Data Protection Impact Assessment of the new registrant system (Nightingale)
